Our little household increased by 2 today, with the purchase of two little goldfish. I’ve had large tropical tanks in the past, filled with all sorts of exotic creatures, but I’m still attracted to the simple beauty of goldfish. They’re hardy enough for Melbourne’s temperatures, and low-maintenance enough for the oversized vase I had planned for them.

And in related news, I discovered that photographing moving objects in a round vase is kinda tough. I imagine I’ll get better results during the day when I have more natural light at my disposal.

The fish are unnamed, so far. Ideas have been thrown around, but I’m not sure that any have really stuck yet. Mary-Kate & Ashley and Bert & Ernie are currently in the lead.
