#76 - Rearrange my study
Elizabeth January 5th, 2008
Part of my 101 Things in 1001 Days challenge.
Last night I completed my first task in my 101/1001, which was to rearrange the furniture in my study. Everything was sort of thrown in here when I moved in a couple of months ago, and I felt like I was wasting this gorgeous big room by not making better use of it.
I am really happy with how it turned out! And it’s great to cross something off my list.
BEFORE:

It’s okay, but kind of cramped considering the space I had to work with. The wooden art table ended up having to hold the modem, router and other computer gear, which meant it wasn’t being used for art stuff. It was also a pain in the butt to get to the router if we needed to.
So…
AFTER:

Now my art table is holding art supplies, imagine that! Underneath is all my scrapbooking stuff (for journaling, not for scrapbooks), paints and a single bag of computer cables and guitar leads. That part was unavoidable.

Best of all, I now have my digital recorder and preamp in a handy position for the next time I get the urge to record.

Now to figure out which item to tackle next!

It looks very nice indeed! I love that little art table. It’s so nice to have things organised like that.
I’m not the neatest person in the world. I can keep a clean house. But pristine just isn’t in my vocabulary. There are better things to do, than use a toothbrush on the microwave, in my opinion. *Giggles*
But, most of the house is tidy. The one area thats not.. my ‘office’. A sort of ‘catchall’ room, that holds all the crafty, writing, photo, music, entertainment things in my world. It’s a project Ive been meaning to undertake for quite a long time.
Yours turned out so well, its inspiring! Note to self: Must find cool little craft table like that one!
Nicely done! And one off your list! Woohoo!

It looks fantastic. Good luck with the rest of your 100. I started January 1 too
Thank you both!
Mary Kate: the “art table” is actually from the kitchen department of IKEA. It’s called the FÖRHÖJA.
There are better things to do, than use a toothbrush on the microwave, in my opinion.
In the interests of full disclosure, I suppose I should mention that the same night I actually took apart my keyboard, put all the keys in a washbag and put them through the washing machine.
And cleaned the base with cotton buds.
Is there any hope for me?
You rearranged study looks more organised. I see you site is also undergoing a major revision today. It looks nice.
