grandpa

The world lost one of its most magical people on Friday, just a few hours after Christmas.

From the back of your big blue eyes
I knew you’d be gone as soon as you could
And I hoped you would

We could see that you weren’t yourself
And the lines on your face did tell, it’s just as well
You’d never be yourself again

Saw you last night
Danced by the light of the moon
Stars in your eyes
Free from the life that you knew

You’re the magic that holds the sky up from the ground
You’re the breath that blows these cool winds ’round
Trading places with an angel now

Goodnight, Grandpa. I can’t imagine anybody ever taking your place.

All our thoughts are with you and your family, I hope you’re surrounded by those you love and love you during this difficult time. I have no doubt that Tim is being your rock and you know I am here if you need me.

condolences to you and your famiily. not too long ago, i lost my grandmother and a few weeks later, my grandfather was said to pass of a broken heart because he was in complete health, but hated being without her. i still remember what it felt like to lose such wonderful people in my life, so my thoughts are with you.

I’m so (belatedly) sorry for your loss!

It’s always rough to lose a beloved family member, but extra tough when it happens during the holiday season too :(

I loved that last quote in your post, very touching indeed, and with having lost my grandmother in 2008 and one of my favourite aunts 2 years ago, it certainly resonates.

    *hug*
